| Jeff Boutin
Jeff began his career in art as owner and developer of Minnesota’s first and only carpet mill. He developed strong connections with many of the interior designers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. His beautifully colored, hand–tufted carpets and rugs can be found in very prominent homes and businesses through out the United States.
After 15 years of rug design, he sold his business and began taking classes at the Minneapolis Atelier. He was ready to switch from yarn to paint and from the floor to the canvas. Before long, he realized his art could be much more expressive and individualized than what was being taught at The Atelier. He strongly believes that ach artist must discover for himself what style belongs to him and follow his own course.
Although Jeff paints a variety of subjects, his favorites include chickens, flowers and landscapes. He’s recognized for his use of color and his defiance of traditional styles of painting, besides the well known paintbrush, he’s proficient with the palette knife and plastic scraper in his use of acrylics and oils.
Jeff lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
