| John Galvan
John Galvan credits his father with forming his early interest in art, as a boy in Kearney, NE. A talented high school teacher also helped from Galvan as an artist. After school, he joined the Air Force, and was able to continue to develop his artistic skills.
After the Air Force where he was assigned to be an illustrator, he moved to Denver where he met professional artist Ramon Kelley who took Galvan on as a student. Galvan had never before thought of art as a real profession. Kelley also taught Galvan the business aspects of being a professional artist.
Galvan’s work has evolved naturally, making him adept in pastel, oil, charcoal and some watercolor. He lets the subject matter select the medium – choosing the one that will create the best work. “My favorite subject is people, old, young, rich or poor.”
John lives in Denver CO.
