Guiteau Lanoue

Guiteau Lanoue, a native of Port au Prince, Haiti, creates beautifully textured, structured and geometric mixed media hand cast paper collages. Guiteau makes his paper from 100% cotton linters; then he scores, folds, and glues his unique patterns on a base of museum paper.

African geometric symbols frequently appear in his collage painting as well as non-specific calligraphic designs. Cubism and the influences of Picasso are evident in his layered collages. He has collectors all around the world from his exhibits and International ArtExpo in New York City as well as purchases at fine juried art events in the U.S.

Guiteau and his wife Elaine many times will collaborate on their work and consider it a marriage of art and artists. Guiteau gives God ‘all the glory and thanksgiving’ for the gift he gives him and the ability to share this gift with others.

Lanoue lives in Houston TX.
